Brownlies Grain Trading Its not often that a young man, still at university, walks through our office doors with a fist full of hard earned dollars and an entrepreneurial drive big enough to make the Donald Trump's of this world take note. It happened recently... Adam Brownlie is a young cotton and grain farmer from Millmerran in the heart of Queensland's fertile Darling Downs. He has just completed a degree at the Gatton campus of the University of Queensland and is currently doing his Masters through the same institution. While travelling in the USA a few years ago Adam hit on the idea of setting up an on-line grain trading operation. After careful planning and months of market research Adam came to Quadtech to flesh out his plans. He required a sophisticated data base driven website which would allow those with grain for sale to list their products on line. At the same time registered buyers could log in, peruse grain listings by commodity, location and grade. If they liked what they saw they could enter into negotiations with the seller, and close the deal - all on-line! Quadtech developers worked closely on this one with corporate partner AVG Computing to arrive at a highly effective site with more background 'smarts' than the last Apollo mission. * So, fancy buying a bit of wheat? Go to www.brownliesgraintrading.com.au to see how it all works. *Pedantic readers please note that any references in this article to NASA's technological expertise may not be totally steeped in fact. |

Qld Windmill and Solar - Beat the drought Clay and Rhys Newman of Clifton on the Darling Downs have been supplying and repairing windmills and pumping equipment for a long time. In recent years they have embraced the opportunities afforded by emerging solar pump technology and the new generation of Poly Tanks. The Solar Pumps represent quite amazing technology. It is definitely worth a look at this site just to see the level of innovation coming out of rural Australia during a period of significant climatic and economic adversity. www.qldwindmillandsolar.com.au |
